_NUMERO SPECIAL Interview Jerome PESCHARD "A PINBALL LIFE"

I have spent more than 35 years in the fields of creativity and entrepreneurship, shifting focus between the two over the years without ever understanding which of these two directions was more important to me, like an inseparable couple that cannot exist without one another. After spending six years at the two largest schools of special effects and video games in northern France as an artistic director and teacher of image composition and multimedia production at Supinfocom/Rubika and Pôle 3D/Pictura, and then ten years at a major French video game company in northern France where I was the general manager of Ankama Production and also one of the artistic directors of this entertainment group, travelling seven months a year in Europe, the USA, and Asia, creating, developing, selling, and establishing sustainability have always been my vocation. During this period of business trips, I discovered Asia, but especially Vietnam, a country that amazed me with its resilience and tenacity in the face of development, human qualities in which I recognised myself. Its landscapes, architecture, feminine strength, culture, and energy completely captivated me, and that’s when the spark occurred, a new place for my inspiration, like Gauguin arriving in Haiti and discovering its multitude of cultural colours. It was the right moment to change my life and direction, for a return to creation! ...

_NUMERO SPECIAL Interview Alexandre GAREL "Saigon SNAPS"

"Born and raised in France by an architect father, Alexandre Garel developed an early sensitivity to the charm of historic buildings. More than that, he came to understand the value of preserving them. On arriving in Vietnam, he was struck by the richness and weight of the time-worn architectural heritage of Hanoi and Saigon, as well as a certain sorrow. Many buildings were neglected, left to decay, and then erased from memory.."

_NUMERO SPECIAL Interview The Pit "Pierre Choisnet"

Pierre Choisnet, aka The Pit, lives and works in Lille, France.
Since the late 1980s, The Pit's strange images have appeared in underground zines and a multitude of other publications (solo and collective). The Pit publishes with La Cinquième Couche (Brussels), L’Association (Paris), Le Dernier Cri (Marseille), United Dead Artist (Paris), La Chienne (Lille), La Belle Époque (Lille), numerous other independent publishers, and various zines. The Pit explores new forms through a slow and methodical process of transmutation. Initially, girls pulled at their flesh and tore themselves apart. Since then, these small still lifes have been meticulously studied. Several protocols have been discovered: Reinvesting the gaps in the landscape by melting the residue within them. Stuffing balls of muscle into the layers that slide from one to the other. From the craters, outside the interstices, we observe that re-compositions are rising. Arrangements that are phasing, reversing, displacing, deflating any certainty as soon as it tries to take shape.
